The
firm is gearing up for a special gathering of its dynamic network of
principals, special counsels, and contract counsels in Charlotte, NC
during the 79th Annual Convention of the National Bar Association August
7-14.
This gathering will allow the firm the showcase its recent achievements
during the weeklong NBA Convention. Representing a professional network of
over 20,000 lawyers, judges, educators and law students, the NBA is the
nation's oldest and largest national association of predominately
African-American lawyers and judges. It has 84 affiliate chapters
throughout the United States and affiliations in Canada, the United
Kingdom, Africa and the Caribbean.
TEC Law contributes its talents and resources to this revered organization
by assisting incoming NBA President Kim Keenan with media relations during
the 2004-2005 Bar Year. The firm’s Assistant Managing principal, Ronda
Robinson will serve as Special Assistant to the President in the area of
Media and public relations.

TEC Law lands feature article in Business Mag: TEC Law continues to
receive accolades for its National Black Business Quarterly featured cover
story entitled “Mastering the Art of Communications.” The publication,
known as America’s Resource Magazine, launched the series in its Winter
2004 edition and will run profiles on the firm in the next few editions.
TEC Law Plays Lead in Successful Muslim Civil Rights Law Conference @
Howard Law: TEC Law lawyers and associates played a leading role in
the success of the 2nd Annual Muslim Civil Rights Law Conference.
This event which was held at Howard Law featured leading Civil Rights
Attorneys including Kareema Al-Amin, wife of jailed Muslim/Human Rights
leader Imam Jamil Al-Amin; Kurt Schmoke, Dean of Howard's Law School and
former Mayor of Baltimore; C. Elaine Jones and Ted Shaw, the outgoing and
incoming presidents of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, respectively.

TEC Law International: TEC Law Managing Principal Al Hajj Talib Bin
Karim, Esq. is fresh from a trip to Ghana, West Africa, as part of a
delegation including representatives from BETA, the National Organization
of Minority Architects, the Howard U College of Engineering, Architecture,
& Comp Science Alumni Network, and Tuskegee University Alumni of the
Bahamas. The ten-day tour was full of historical and cultural
enlightenment, including a lecture by a history professor at the
University of Ghana at Legon. While in Ghana, Attorney Karim met with Al
Hajji Abubakri Sadick Ahmed, a member of the Ghanian Media Commission
(equivalent to the FCC), and borrowing from Karim’'s efforts in this
area here in the states, discussed strategies for improving the quality of
Ghana's media. This meeting prompted an interview by Mr. Ahmed, also one
of Ghana's leading radio personalities, of Attorney Karim about his
experiences in Ghana on a national radio program. Attorney Karim also met
with Peter Ankrah, Di! rector of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center
about opportunities for American companies to invest and do business in
Ghana. This meeting was arranged through contacts established by Attorney
Karim and his wife with Mr. Abbas, a senior official with the Ghanian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Strong relations were also established with
members of Ghana's land development co munity through meetings with hotel
sector representatives as well as leading Ghanian architects.
